International marathon ski race from Hetta, Finland, to Kautokeino, Norway
Saami Ski Race 11th April
Enontekiö and Kautokeino organize together a new mass ski event on Sunday, the 11th of April 2010. The race is skied on the arctic tundra plain and its distance is approximately 90km.The beautiful and exotic landscape between Hetta and Kautokeino create a special setting for the new ski race. And what makes the competition even more interesting is its international dimension. The skiers cross the state border between Finland and Norway. After crossing the state border, starts the treeless tundra zone.
