Finnish DevOps company Eficode has entered a strategic partnership with Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Chinese retail giant Alibaba Group, for the distribution of Alibaba Cloud products in the Nordics and to Nordic actors on the Chinese market.

Eficode, itself a subsidiary of the Finnish Tech Consulting Group (TCG Group), will start offering a comprehensive range of Alibaba Cloud products on the Nordic market and act as a cloud service provider for Nordic companies making the transition to the Chinese market.

The new collaborators officially formed the partnership on 12 October at the Computing Conference in Hangzhou, China. The agreement was signed by Alexander Yin, CFO of TCG Group, and Yeming Wang, deputy general manager at Alibaba Cloud Global.

“Alibaba Cloud is the biggest provider of cloud services in China and the most natural local cloud partner for companies coming from Europe when they make their China entry,” says Heikki Hämäläinen, sales director of Eficode. “Now being able to choose Eficode as well as Alibaba Cloud as a service provider gives companies local and overseas contacts when taking this step in the future.”

The strategic partnership follows previous co-operation between TCG Group companies and China’s foremost e-commerce company. In 2016, TCG Group subsidiary ePassi and the mobile payment platform Alipay, partially owned by Alibaba, joined forces to create a smart tourism ecosystem in Finland for Chinese visitors.
