Deals from China and Germany for Finnish duo
Outokumpu is to deliver stainless steel quarto plate to a Chinese petrochemical project, and Pöyry has been awarded a detail engineering services assignment for revamp of dispersion plant in Worms.
Outokumpu’s order encompasses some 500 tonnes of Forta DX 2205 duplex stainless steel for the second-phase development of Jiaxing Petrochemical Co’s purified terephthalic acid (PTA) production facility in Zhejiang province, China.
The stainless steel quarto plates are supplied to NanJing Duble for fabrication and manufacturing into pressure vessels. This investment in a new PTA production facility extends the company’s capacity by 1.2 million tonnes.
Meanwhile, Pöyry has been assigned the detail engineering services for all disciplines related to Synthomer’s dispersion plant, as well as health, safety and environment management, permitting engineering, cost control and project scheduling.
Synthomer develops and markets polymers used in a wide range of industries. The investment adds several new and fully automated production lines for acrylic dispersions, boosting capacity by 30 000 tonnes.
Project completion is expected during the third quarter 2018.
