Cohu Experience breaks Finnish crowdfunding record
Finnish startup Cohu Experience has closed a 3.2 million-euro round for its Space Nation Astronaut Program. Over 500 Finnish private investors were among the crowdfunders.
“We succeeded way beyond our expectations,” says Kalle Vähä-Jaakkola, CEO. “Now we can finalise our educational application, boost the growth of our global team, start filming the programme in three continents, as well as arrange the first space flight.”
The company’s main project, Space Nation, is a global training programme that lowers the threshold for becoming an astronaut. It includes a free-of-charge mobile application, through which users can test their astronaut potential by undertaking physical, psychological and team-building exercises. The top-fared will then be chosen for a multinational televised training session and competition.
According to Vähä-Jaakkola, the next step for the company is to arrange a financing round for international investors.
