Chinese development goes with the KONE flow

Finnish elevator and escalator specialists KONE has won an order for 33 elevators and 21 escalators in the Guangxi Autonomous Region of South Central China.

The development includes a 248-metre office and hotel tower and a shopping mall.

The elevators and escalators are to be installed at the Liuzhou Poly International Center mixed-use development in the city of Liuzhou.

The development comprises of a 54-story office and hotel tower that reaches a height of 248 metres, along with a shopping mall.

“At KONE, our mission is to improve the flow of urban life,” said William B. Johnson, executive vice president for KONE Greater China. “This project is an example of how we can do that at a site that is expected to be a bustling hub for business and commerce.”

Some 3 000 people are expected to use the KONE equipment on a daily basis.

Alongside the provision of elevators and escalators, KONE is to deliver its Destination Control System and will link all equipment to its remote monitoring solution KONE E-Link.

The developer for the project, which is slated for completion next year, is Poly Property Group.
