Finnish company Caverion is to provide ventilation and air conditioning solutions to University Hospital Frankfurt in Germany after signing a contract with Hessisches Baumanagement.

The agreement is valued at 10.6 million euros and covers project execution.

“Stringent air purity requirements apply in sensitive rooms such as operating theatres and laboratories,” says Werner Kühn, executive vice president & CEO at Caverion Germany. “At the same time, a healthy indoor climate has a positive impact on the patients’ wellbeing and the healing process. We have extensive expertise in efficient ventilation technology and competence in deliveries for demanding properties, such as hospitals.”

The total floor area of the three new hospital buildings is almost 50 000 square metres, housing 258 beds for normal care and 82 beds for intensive care.

Work has already commenced and is slated for completion in July 2017.
