Brazil makes use of Finnish learning methods
Innovation-focused learning methods by Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS) have landed at the University of Caxias do Sul in Brazil.
The Brazilian university is using the Finnish-made innovation pedagogy in its entrepreneurship and design programmes, concluding that the new approach has resulted in better knowledge.
Caxias do Sul is also licensed to distribute the method in three states in Brazil.
On top of Brazil, the form of education has raised interest in Indonesia, Poland, Armenia, Georgia and elsewhere. Recently, the EU commission mentioned TUAS as a promising example of increasing innovation through learning in its working document called ‘A renewed EU agenda for higher education’.
TUAS applies its pedagogical strategy in all study fields it offers. The concept aims to educate new generations of professionals, whose ways of producing, adopting and utilising knowledge enable innovative thinking and add value. The institution has also published books, articles and conference presentations and led international projects on the topic of innovation pedagogy.
