Bookit crosses pond to Sweden
Finnish mobile technology company Bookit has announced it’ll open an office in the Swedish capital Stockholm, alongside its ongoing pilots in continental Europe.
According to the company, the decision is based on the growth it has experienced in the revenue flows from Sweden.
“A significant proportion of our turnover already comes from Sweden,” Bookit founder Jukka Salonen says. “The new office will focus on strengthening sales and serving the growing clientele.”
In Sweden, Bookit’s list of clients includes names such as PostNord, DB Schenker and Vianor. In Finland, its solutions are used by various large enterprises like Finnair and Posti.
“In the past year, we’ve started several pilots in continental Europe and we’ll rapidly expand there, too,” Salonen tells. “In Finland, we’re continuously looking for skilled developers for our product development, too.”
Bookit was founded in 1999, and at the moment it boasts over 120 international patents. On top of its Helsinki and Stockholm offices, the company has a base in Dallas, US. It’s also one of the Finnish firms that were chosen to renew the public transportation system in the city of Nashville, US.
