VRVR Group expands in Russia

Transpoint International Oy, a subsidiary of the Finnish transport company VR Group, will acquire the entire share capital of Avain-Trans Oy, a provider of logistics and road transport services from Finland to Russia and other CIS countries and distribution services to Moscow and St. Petersburg.
- Through the acquisition we will be able to offer even more versatile services to both our new and existing customers in Russia. Our goal is to expand especially on the markets of Moscow and St. Petersburg, says Kari Voutilainen, CEO of Transpoint Interntional.
Avain-Trans Oy’s annual turnover was approximately 5 million euro in 2009. The company employs about 100 professionals. Established in 1992, the company’s administrative, marketing, product planning and traffic management operations are carried out from the South-Eastern Finnish city of Lappeenranta.
Transpoint International Oy belongs to the logistics division at VR Group. The division offers industrial and parcelled goods transport, and other value-added logistics services for the Finnish and international road traffic.
