Outotec acquires Swedish sulfuric acid specialist Edmeston

Here SF Chem factory being built in Prattel, Switzerland in 2005.Outotec has acquired all shares in Edmeston AB, a Swedish company specializing in sulfuric acid production equipment and systems. The transaction is subject to completion of confirmatory due diligence, and it is expected to be closed in May.
Edmeston AB is based in Gothenburg. The company is specialized in the engineering and supply of process equipment used primarily in sulfuric acid plants. Edmeston has unique know-how of special stainless steel grades suitable for use in highly corrosive environment. Edmeston's annual turnover is approximately 10 million euros.
Outotec is the leading supplier of advanced sulfuric acid plants for the metallurgical and chemical industries. Outotec's technology is used for example in fertilizer production. The company has delivered over 600 sulfuric acid plants globally.
