NokiaMetaCarta’s search technology complements Nokia’s geographical location search services.Mobile technology giant Nokia has acquired MetaCarta Inc, a specialist in geographic intelligence solutions. The American company is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Nokia aims at utilizing MetaCarta’s technology in Nokia’s search service and other services utilizing geographical location search.
MetaCarta Inc. is a provider of technology solutions for finding written information about any place or location. MetaCarta unique technology, combining geosearch and geotagging capabilities allows users to find content about a location in internal and external data stores.
MetaCarta employs approximately 30 people in the United States.
