YIT acquires Danish Carl Christensen & Co

Carl Christensen & Co Carl Christensen & Co offers a wide range of services in the Danish HVAC and property sector
YIT continues its expansion in Central Europe and the Nordic countries by acquiring the business operations of Danish Carl Christensen & Co. The 113-year-old company is a leading supplier of heat, water, sanitation, ventilation, sprinkler and electric systems, and auxiliary maintenance operations.

Carl Christensen A/S’s net sales in 2009 were 33.3 million euro, making the year the most profitable in the company’s history. The company employs approximately 250 professionals, and it operates in Aalborg, Århus, Velje and Rødovre. Through the acquisition YIT will have 1450 employees in the company’s 18 Danish service centres and offices.

YIT’s previous company acquisitions in Denmark included Gerdes & Wesenberg in Fredericia and Brdr. Petersen in Eftf. in Velje.
