Vaisala acquires Canadian Veriteq Instruments Inc.

Veriteq Instruments Inc Veriteq is one the world’s leading companies in monitoring the conditions of critical environments.
Vaisala, a global leader in environmental and industrial measurement, strengthens its position in the life science market through the acquisition of Canadian Veriteq Instruments Inc. The Vancouver-based company is a provider of productized continuous monitoring systems and data logger solutions for critical environments.

Veriteq’s customers comprise of pharmaceutical, biotechnological and medical device companies. The company’s annual net sales totalled 5 million euros in 2009, and the company employs approximately 40 people. The value of Vaisala’s acquisition is 8.5 million euros, including a conditional purchase price of 0.7 million euros.

The so-called ‘life science industry’ is strictly regulated by international and national authorities. In order to protect their high value goods and to comply with the regulations, companies within the industry need to monitor and control the conditions of their critical environments such as cleanrooms, laboratories and warehouses.
