AC drive manufacturer Vacon has opened up a new plant in Suzhou, China. The official inauguration took place on May 11th.
The new factory occupies a total area of 24,000 square metres. The new plant also has a R&D lab and the after-sales service centre for the Asia-Pacific region.
Vacon’s Chairman of the Board Jan Inborr believes the new factory will significantly increase the company’s production capacity and its competitiveness in China.
The company’s turnover in 2010 was 338 million euros and it employs some 1,300 people. Vacon has product development and production facilities in Finland, the United States, China and Italy as well as sales outlets in 27 countries. The Chinese subsidiary was set up in 2003.
