Finnish IT-service company Tieto is chosen as one of ten IT-suppliers by the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency in Sweden, Kammarkollegiet. Suppliers were chosen in a tender competition and the framework agreements cover IT management services in the public sector, which means that they will affect all government agencies, 232 municipalities as well as 19 county councils and regions. The total order value is estimated at approximately 4 billion Swedish kronor during the initial five-year period.

The agreement encompasses services for the operation, development and support of IT infrastructure and applications. It also includes solutions for integrating applications, software and infrastructure.

A study carried out by Tieto shows that the IT costs of the Swedish public sector total approximately 40 billion kronor per year. So far, the value of outsourced operations is only about 2.3 billion kronor.
Tieto's five-year framework agreement will be signed on February 8th provided that no appeals are made under Swedish public procurement legislation.
