Good News from Wed, 14 July, 2010:

The Finnish sauna experts

HARVIA During the last few years Harvia’s product range has expanded into a complete sauna package.
Harvia Oy, the manufacturer of sauna stoves and saunas, will be sixty years old this year.  Harvia has remained as a family firm all this time and, over the decades, has developed from a small blacksmith into an international concern. Today, Harvia products are manufactured on premises more than 30,000 m3 in area and then exported from there all over the globe.

- Harvia has remained a financially stable, Finnish family business and has grown from a one-man blacksmith to an enterprise employing 250 people. Today’s Harvia is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sauna stoves and suppliers of sauna products with exports to more than 65 countries, relates company Sales Director Kullervo Harvia.

Harvia products have been part of the Finnish sauna experience for decades. Although in the 80s the company was already the world’s leading manufacturer of wood-burning sauna stoves, the importance of electrical sauna stoves has grown to become one of the cornerstones of the company’s business.

- Behind our success is a number of successful decisions, notes Kullervo Harvia. One example was the decision to begin making electrical stoves in the 1980s, alongside our wood-burning products. Throughout our history we have developed new products on the basis of customer requirements and environmental values.

During the first ten years of this century, Harvia’s product range has expanded into a complete sauna package. According to Kullervo Harvia, the range is intended to address everything the customer could need for sauna. This year the most recent new product launch has been prefabricated bathroom saunas.

- Harvia’s future looks bright, at home and abroad. We invest in building up good, successful customer relations while also continually and systematically developing our products and our range. These are some of the important factors in building a successful future for the company, explains Kullervo Harvia.
