Teleste acquires Swiss Freycom S.A.

Finnish Teleste Group has expanded its operations on the Swiss market by acquiring Freycom S.A., an expert in network maintenance and upgrades. Freycom, which operates in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, has specialized in upgrades and maintenance of cable and house networks. The former owner Didier Frey will continue as the managing director for the company.             

Teleste is a long-established and significant supplier of products on the Swiss market. The recent acquisition marks Teleste’s entry also into services business. The primary clientele consists of Swiss cable and FTTH operators. In Switzerland, the coverage of cable networks is one of the highest in Europe with approximately 250 local operators in the business.

Freycom’s net sales totalled approximately 2.7 million euros in 2009. The acquisition increases the number of Teleste’s personnel by approximately 20.              

Teleste is an international technology group founded in 1954. It is a specialist in broadband video and data communication systems and services. In 2009 the group's net sales totalled 142 million euros and the group employed 1260 professionals.
