Rovio and Lappset are building their first two Angry Birds parks in China this year, one in Haining and another one in Chengdu. A Lappset press release states that all the equipment for the parks will be manufactured in the Lappset factory in Rovaniemi, Lapland. Lappset and Rovio have not disclosed the monetary value of the Chinese orders.

The Business Insider website writes that Rovio is planning to open hundreds of activity parks in China. The website quotes Rovio’s marketing manager Peter Vesterbacka saying that Rovio is "planning to build hundreds, maybe even thousands of activity parks" in China. The company’s goal is to incorporate these smaller parks into local neighbourhoods throughout the country.

— These orders are important since they open the market for Angry Birds theme parks in the Chinese markets. We will invest lots of resources in developing Angry Birds parks, and our partner Rovio has announced that it is aiming to build thousands of theme parks in China,  Lappset CEO Juha Laakkonen confirms.

The China’s first real Angry Birds amusement park will be built in Haining and it is expected to be opened already in September 2012. Haining is located about 125 kilometres from Shanghai. The second one will be built in Chendgu as a part of the Nordic City of Living & Learning district. The first part of the park is expected to be opened by the end of this year.
