Raisio acquires British snack producer Glisten

Raisio.com Thanks to the Glisten-acquisition Raisio’s beloved Elovena girl will be accompanied by British snack brands.
The shareholders of Glisten plc. have approved the terms of the public offer placed by the Finnish food producer Raisio, which will now acquire the entire issued share capital of Glisten. The completion of the acquisition is subject to further legal conditions but is expected to be complete on 8 April 2010. Raisio will pay 22.8 million euros for Glisten.

Glisten Plc is a company specialised in snack foods. For instance Dormen’s, Snax, Fruitus and Weight Watchers are among Glisten’s trademarks. The company’s turnover is approximately 85 million euros and it has over 650 employees.

The acquisition was first reported by the Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat.
