Mountaineer Carina Räihä has made Finnish climbing history by ascending Mount Everest. Born in 1967, Räihä is the first Finnish woman to conquer the world’s highest mountain.

Räihä left her career in 2009 to fulfil her long term dream to conquer Mount Everest. The extreme climb started in April.

– It is an indescribable feeling. Each one of us wants to fulfil our dreams, and now I have fulfilled one of mine. I will probably comprehend this better after a little while, Räihä described the atmosphere via a satellite phone shortly after the team’s arrival to the top of Mount Everest.
