Pöyry wins over 10 million euro contracts to South America

Big Lands Brazil The new pulp mill to be built in Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil will use fast-growing eucalyptus trees as raw material.
Pöyry has won two contracts to South America, with a total value of over 10 million euros.
 
Brazilian Eldorado Celulose e Papel Ltda has awarded Pöyry a contract for pre-engineering and preparatory work for new pulp mill infrastructure. The mill will be built in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, and its annual production capacity of bleached eucalyptus market pulp will be 1.5 million tons. The value of Pöyry’s assignment is approximately 7.5 million euros.

Pöyry will also take part in the engineering of a new wastewater treatment plant in its tender and construction phases. The plant will be built in Medellín and Bello, Colombia. Pöyry’s share of the contract, which was signed with Aguas Nacionales S.A. ESP, a subsidiary of Empresas Públicas de Medellín, has a value of 3 million euros, and its duration is four years.

The new wastewater treatment plant will have a capacity to handle waste water from 2.5 million residents. The total investment for the construction of the wastewater treatment plant is estimated to be over 200 million euros.
