Pöyry signs new contracts to China and Saudi Arabia

Pöyry has been awarded a contract for construction supervision of Lot 5 of the Mingan section of the new Hefei-Fuzhou high-speed railway line, which is scheduled to be in operation by 2015. The contract was awarded by Jingfumingan Passenger Dedicated Railway Line Co. Ltd., China. Pöyry's share of the contract is 3.2 million euros.

The project will be carried out in cooperation with a local railway construction supervision company. The Mingan section of the line is 467 km and the length of Pöyry’s assignment 71 km. The designed speed for the railway line is 350 km/h.

Pöyry has also published a new consultancy contract for the provision of engineering services for Saudi Electricity Company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The services to be performed contain various engineering tasks partially on a lump sum basis and partially on unit rate basis for thermal power plants.

Saudi Electricity Company is a Saudi Arabia-based joint-stock company with headquarters in Riyadh and engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity across Saudi Arabia.

Pöyry is involved in the design and implementation of a seawater FGD (flue gas desulphurization) plant in Jeddah. Pöyry is also participating in the study phase of two seawater FGD plants for the Rabigh and Shoaiba power plants for the Saudi Electricity Corporation.
