Pelago, Helsinki based bicycle company, has won an ISPO BRANDNEW award in Germany. ISPO BRANDNEW is the world’s largest start-up competition in the sporting goods industry. The awards are focused on innovative products and the brands behind them.
During the presentation of the products and their brands to the international jury the focus is on: product, degree of innovation, design, brand features, market potential, and marketing. This year the completion attracted 153 start ups.
“Less is more, that‘s the motto of the winner in the category Urban. Timeless design, meant to be used daily in every weather, that‘s what Pelago Bicycles stand for. Their attractive prices and broad range of bikes makes it easy for everyone to find the perfect bike,” writes the ISPO BRANDNEW jury.
Pelago was founded in 2009 in Helsinki by Mikko and Timo Hyppönen. According to the company’s website, the company is producing functional, aesthetic and strong products. The company’s aim is to make bicycles “that you can be as proud of as we are – bikes that still ride in 2050 – bikes that serve the purpose.”
