PEIKKO GROUP
Peikko Group Oy, who manufacture concrete structures, have won significant orders for a pulp mill project in Uruguay.

The Montes del Plata pulp mill in Punta Pereira is a joint venture of Stora Enso and Arauco of Chile and it is scheduled to start operations in early 2013. The mill will produce some 1.3 million tonnes of pulp each year. The project comprises a pulp mill, a deep water port and power generating unit based on renewable resources.

Peikko has delivered to Uruguay various types of precast connections used in element construction, such as column shoes, anchor bolts, fastening plates and rebar coupling systems.  Peikko’s subsidiary in Spain  is responsible for the Group’s role in the project.

— We are proud to be part of such a large and demanding project. Peikko is not yet present with own operations in South America and the market is currently being developed by our Spanish organization. The coming years will demonstrate when and where we will start our own operations in this area, comments Topi Paananen, CEO of the Peikko Group.

Peikko has subsidiaries in 30 countries in Europe, China, the Middle East and North America as well as production in eight countries around the world.
