Peikko starts production in Canada

Peikko Group Peikko Group is a specialist in precast connections.
Peikko Group’s subsidiary established in 2007, Peikko Canada Inc. will start small-scale production in Quebec City, Canada. The production will begin in 2010 and it will focus on precast connections. The subsidiary was initially established to sell and market Peikko Group’s products in North America.
 
The concrete connections will be sold predominantly to precast element factories in Canada and the United States. Some products will also be manufactured for wind turbine foundations. The manufacturing operations include for instance threading and welding technologies and the production will take place in the company’s existing facility.

In addition to launching the production Peikko Canada Inc. has signed a subcontracting agreement with a Canadian steel fabricator for the manufacture of Peikko’s Deltabeam product line for the North American market.

– Delivery times are important for Peikko’s customers, and especially when operating so far away from Peikko’s current production facilities, our only option was to establish a regional manufacturing facility in order to continue supplying our local market. The small-scale production we are about to start up and the signed subcontracting agreements improve our customer service and enable Peikko’s presence in major projects, says Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group.

Peikko is a Finnish family-owned company specializing in composite beams and fastening products for concrete connections. Peikko Group employs more than 700 people.
