Peikko delivers Deltabeams to new parking house in Sheffield
Lahti-based Peikko Group's subsidiary in the UK, Peikko UK Ltd, will deliver Deltabeam composite beams for a new parking house in the Northern English city of Sheffield. The contract was signed between Peikko UK Ltd and CIDON Construction-company.
The project includes also an in-situ frame with a total of five split floor levels. There will be 700 spaces for parking. Deliveries to the site will start in October this year and are expected to be completed in early 2010. The contract includes 1,4 kilometers of Deltabeam as well as Peikko's corbels and other fastening items. The two parties do not wish to publish the value of the contract.
The Peikko Deltabeams will enable the reaching to an optimal overall height of the parking house. This was particularly important because the adjacent buildings are situated very near to the building.
- The new building project in Sheffield highlights the fact that Deltabeam is a very competitive technical solution for a car park, and that Peikko's integrated solutions offer benefits for multi-level structures in general, says the Managing Director of Peikko Group Oy, Raimo Lehtinen.
Peikko has delivered Deltabeams to similar car parks also in Plymouth, Gloucester and London. The project in Sheffield is the company's fourth in the UK. Deltabeam is a product brand owned by Peikko Group.
