Outotec to deliver precious metals plant in China

Outotec, a specialist in minerals processing and metallurgical technologies, has signed a contract with Baiyin Non Ferrous Group for the design and delivery of a new precious metals plant in Gansu Province, China. The value of the contract is approximately 6 million Euros.

The delivery includes basic engineering, proprietary equipment and services on site. The plant is expected to be operational during the first half of 2011. Its annual refining capacity will be 4,000 tons of both copper and lead anode slimes which are smelted in a Kaldo furnace.

Baiyin's plant will be the third precious metals plant in China to use Outotec’s Kaldo technology.
