Outotec has signed an agreement to acquire Scanalyse Holdings Pty Ltd, an Australian-based software technology company, for an undisclosed price. The acquisition is expected to be completed this month.
Scanalyse, which has operations in Australia, Brazil, Chile and the United States, specialises in measurement software development.
Its condition and performance monitoring technologies and services are expected to strengthen Outotec's life cycle services portfolio.
— There are good opportunities to multiply the business volume of grinding mill and crusher monitoring services and to further develop applications for other process equipment, for example, refractory lined vessels, says Outotec CEO Pertti Korhonen.
Scanalyse has a strong focus in research and development, with particular emphasis on algorithms and software technology.
The company has developed proprietary computer analysis of spatial laser scan data. This analysis is used for process equipment condition and performance monitoring.
Scanalyse services have gained acceptance in the minerals processing industry in Australia and other mining countries, enabling the operators to optimize their asset performance.
Scanalyse has 36 employees with sales of a few million euros in 2012. Outotec expects to significantly increase the sales of these products worldwide.
