Omena hotels expands to Stockholm
Lehtikuva/ Pekka SakkiThe hotel to be opened in Stockholm will be the chain’s 11th. There are currently nine Omenahotelli in Finland, three of which in the centre of Helsinki, two in Tampere and one in Turku, Seinäjoki and Vaasa. They can accommodate over 2000 guests in total. Omenahotelli began its international conquest in June when it opened a hotel in Copenghagen.
The basic idea of Omenahotelli is based on affordable prices achieved for instance by cutting down on personnel. The hotels do not have an actual reception desk, but a shared customer service through telephone. When booking online the guest receives a door code, which allows access to the reserved room. Moreover, all the rooms are nearly the same.
Omenahotelli chain is owned by the founder and principal owner of the well-known pizza restaurant chain Kotipizza, Rabbe Grönblom.
