Nokia Siemens Networks brings GSM networks to three Indian states

Nokia Siemens Networks will build a GSM network in three Indian states, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. The contract signed with the Indian mobile phone operator Aircel is worth over 300 million US dollars. In addition to supplying the network, the contract includes its management for the next four years.

Aircel is an Indian subsidiary of the Malaysia’s Maxis Group, which is in the process of expanding its Indian operations. The Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan networks are expected to be in operation in April.

– As partners of Nokia Siemens Networks we have launched mobile networks in record time also before. We are confident that we will meet our targets also this time, says Gurdeep Singh, Chief Operating Officer at Aircel.

Nokia Siemens Networks has already supplied GSM networks and related services to Aircel for the cities of Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
