New sea route connects Helsinki and Rostock

Finnlines

In the beginning of December the Finnish shipping company Finnlines opened its new passenger route from Helsinki to Rostock, Germany. The Helsinki -Rostock -route is operated via the Polish city of Gdynia. The journey takes about 34 hours.

Finnlines operates the route to Rostock with its STAR-class combined passenger and cargo ships which are biggest and fastest in their class. The structure of the ships has been built taking into consideration the harsh conditions of the Baltic Sea environment. The ships offer the same comforts as cruise ships, which means that there is for instance a restaurant and a sauna department.

The vessel to Rostock departs from Vuosaari harbor thrice a week. Finnlines operates a passenger ship route also between Helsinki and Travemünde in Germany.

Finnlines is one of the leading cargo and passenger ship operators in the Baltic and North Sea regions.
