The Finnish companies Etteplan and Lamor have joined forces to develop a new skimmer system which will improve emergency preparedness of oil recovery operations worldwide. The companies will jointly develop an innovative skimmer system to be used in oil recovery operations.

The new mobile skimmers will significantly improve the efficiency of oil spill response operations worldwide, says Lamor’s Fred Larsen, President and CEO.

Lamor commissioned Etteplan to design and develop in cooperation a ready-to-use oil recovery system featuring innovative mobility and functionality not previously seen in oil skimmers. Due to its state-of-the-art functionality and mobility, the next generation skimmer systems can be efficiently and effectively installed on any vessel with a flat deck.

The new skimmer systems will be fully operational within 10 to 15 minutes after installation and improve significantly the preparedness to start oil recovery operations on any type of vessel with a flat deck.

Lamor is a Finnish privately held company specialized in advanced oil spill response equipment and recovery operations. Etteplan is a Finnish listed company specialized in industrial equipment engineering and technical product information.
