Moventas expands to Australia

Moventas Moventas is one of the world’s biggest wind turbine manufacturers. At the moment the company employs about 1300 professionals in eight countries worldwide.
Finnish wind turbine gear and industrial gear manufacturer Moventas will establishe a subsidiary in Australia. At the moment the company operates in eight countries in Europe, the Americas and China.

Australia’s demand for wind power is in rapid growth. In addition, there is significant mining and minerals processing, fiber & paper, sugar and coal industries in the country.
 
–  Moventas has a large installed base and long lasting customer relations especially on the industrial gear side in Australia. This step gives us capability to locally support our customers both technically and commercially and provides good opportunity for us to expand our service business network, says Olli Välimäki, Senior Vice President for Moventas service division.

The new company in Australia, Moventas Australia Pty Ltd, will serve as a sales contact for both service and capital sales customers. At the moment Moventas is exploring alternatives to manage a comprehensive maintenance service to its customer base.  

–  The outlook in Australia is promising and the local presence will help us in realizing it. Taking service close to our customers is a logical move. For Moventas it is also a strategic investment in enhancing capital sales to local customer base, Välimäki continues.  

Moventas Australia Pty Ltd is expected to begin in its operations this autumn.
