Midnight Balloon rally embellished the Finnish midsummer sky
The hot air balloon rally attracted all in all 17 balloon teams. Six teams arrived from overseas particularly for the event. The furthest away hot air balloon with its pilot arrived all the way from China. The rally gave the pilots the rare chance to fly in the night sky. The balloons were flown between 23-01.
The friday night audience witnessed the amazing launch of the world's first hot air balloon sauna. The sauna was fitted into the balloon's basket.
- The sauna is built out of canvas and it is heated up by gas stove. By having a proper sauna session up in the air our plan is to enter thus the Guinness Book of Records with the world’s only hot air balloon sauna ever, says the organizer of the event, Vesa Lensu.
The event which was held for the first time received a plenty of positive feedback.
- Midnight Balloon Rally is the biggest hot air balloon event held in Finland since years. Both Finnish and international participants have given us excellent feedback. We are planning to turn the event into an annual summer gathering, concludes Lensu.
