Metso has signed a contract with Northland Resources AB of Sweden to deliver minerals processing equipment and project services to two process lines in Kaunisvaara, northern Sweden.  When combined with a previously announced order, the value of the contract exceeds 200 million euros.

According to the new contract, Metso will supply Kaunisvaara with a primary gyratory crusher, a semi-autogenous grinding mill, four vertical grinding mills and equipment for conveying, classification, separation and filtration.  The contract also covers construction works related to the iron ore process plant system.

The Northland Resources mining company has mining projects in northern Sweden and in Finland.  The Kaunisvaara project will exploit magnetite iron ore deposits which will feed a multi-line processing facility in Sweden. The mine yields high-grade, high-quality magnetite iron concentrate.
