Metso scores 16-million euro grinding mill order to Australia

Metso will supply two complete grinding mills and related equipment to Newcrest Cadia Valley gold mine in New South Wales, Australia. The combined value of the two orders is over 16 million euros. The delivery will be completed by June 2010.

The orders comprise a ball mill and a vertical stirred mill. The ball mill will be the most powerful grinding mill supplied to Australia, while the vertical stirred mill will be the world’s largest. The ball mill will be installed in the Newcrest Cadia concentrator and the vertical mill to the company’s adjacent Ridgeway concentrator.

Newcrest is Australia's largest gold producer and a global Top 10 gold mining company. The company has seven operating mines, out of which five in Australia, one in Indonesia and one in Papua New Guinea.
