Metso and BHEL to extend technological collaboration
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) of India and Metso have signed the extension of the ongoing Technology Collaboration Agreement (TCA) between the two companies for Distributed Control System (DCS). The TCA extension is for a period of 10 years, effective 15 September 2009.
BHEL is the largest supplier of power plant equipment in India. BHEL supplied equipment contributes around 73 per cent of the total power generated in India. The cumulative capacities of power projects installed by BHEL have exceeded 138,000 MW.
The previous TCA with BHEL was signed in December 2000. During the tenure of this agreement to 2009, BHEL has obtained orders about 475 units which are under different stages of implementation.
