Metsä Tissue upgrades it Mänttä factory

The Finnish Forest Industry brings about positive news. Metsä Tissue, which is a company well known for its tissue and cooking papers, will renew one of its paper machines of its Mänttä factory. The investment has been estimated to cost the company approximately 6 million Euros and it has been planned to be carried out on the first half of 2010.

- Metsä Tissue wants to invest in the future of its traditional Mänttä factory. The investment will enhance further the high quality of Metsä Tissue products, promises the company’s CEO Hannu Kottonen.

The Mänttä factory of Metsä Tissue is the company’s only production unit in Finland. The factory produces the popular Lambi-, Serla- and Katri-products.

The investment includes a new Crecent-former, headbox and reeler. The project includes also the renewal of the machine’s short spin, compactor and automation process. Metsä Tissue has signed a delivery contract of the machine’s upgrade with Vaahto Group, which is a technology specialist operating in the field of process technology in the pulp and paper industry.
