Metsä Tissue, the tissue and cooking papers manufacturer, is investing 10 million Euros in a new tissue converting line at the Mariestad mill in Sweden. According to the company, the new efficient line will increase converting capacity of the Swedish mill up to 80,000 tonnes per year, and it will be taken to use in autumn 2014.
— The new converting line represents state-of-the-art tissue converting technology, which means we can produce the softest tissue qualities on the market, says Mark Watkins, SVP, Tissue, Scandinavia.
Metsä-Tissue, which is part of Metsä Group, is supplying tissue paper and cooking papers throughout Europe, and it has production units in six different countries. Its main brands include Lambi, Serla, Mola, Tento, Katrin and SAGA.
The company employs about 2,900 people, and had sales of 1.0 billion euros in 2012.
