Lippupiste is eager to grow on the Baltic ticket market
Lehtikuva / Martti Kainulainen Last year Madonna performed both in Tallinn and Helsinki. Lippupiste is eager to grow, and would be happy to handle tickets sales in the whole Baltic region– Our future growth will take place within the Baltic region. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are a market area of about eight million inhabitants. These days for instance the cinema chain Finnkino sells more tickets in the Baltic region than in Finland, says CEO of Lippupiste Oy, Ari Palhamo.
In a few years Lippupiste has become the biggest Finnish ticket agent. According to the estimation of Kauppalehti magazine Lippupiste holds approximately 55 percent of the Finnish ticket market. The traditional ticket agency Lippupalvelu has been left behind, serving now about 40 percent of the market.
The Baltic market is tempting also because of traditionally wide scope of culture within the region. Also for instance the expenses of concert organizers are still somewhat reasonable considered to the high cost level of Finland.
– There are several hundreds of events organizers in the Baltic Countries, which concentrate on Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius, Palhamo tells.
The annual turnover of Lipupiste in 2009 was 7.7 million euros, and the company generated gross profit of 800 000 euros.
