Lassila & Tikanoja opens its first recycling plant in Russia

Lassila&Tikanoja Lassila & Tikanoja’s first recycling plant is located in the Moscow region.

Finnish waste management and recycling company Lassila & Tikanoja expands its operations in Russia by introducing its recently completed recycling plant in the city of Dubna near Moscow. The company’s objective is to reduce the amount of waste ending up in the area’s landfills by recycling it as raw material for industry.

– Russian cities are genuinely eager to improve their environmental management. The completion of the recycling plant is an important link in the chain of creating a waste management system in the Dubna region that meets the EU standards. The recycling plant offers an excellent opportunity for learning more about sorting and recycling together with the region’s residents and businesses, says Pertti Tammivuori, Business Director at L&T.

The recycling plant in Dubna is able to process waste material generated by trade, industry and households with an annual capacity of 30 000 tonnes.

Lassila & Tikonaoja is specialised in environmental management and support services for properties and plants. L&T has offices in Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Russia.
