Kotipizza.fi Kotipizza is also known for its Pizza Berlusconi, named after the Italian Prime Minister.
Kotipizza’s Cold Smoked Salmon Kotzone won bronze at The America’s Plate International Pizza Competition 2010, held in New York on February 28th.

The winner of this year’s contest was Italy, while the host country United States ranked second. Finnish Cold Smoked Salmon Kotzone was garnished by red onion, salad, fresh spinach, tomato and cheese. The folded pizza was juiced up with lemon and honey sauce and balsamic vinegar.

The pizzas were rated for their taste, appearance and commercial viability. The Cold Smoked Salmon Kotzone concocted by Kotipizza entrepreneur Esa Tirkkonen was praised for its taste and novel appearance. Finland was represented in the competition by Kotipizza-entrepreneurs Kati Bergman and Riitta Martiskainen.

The annual competition now held for the fourth time brings together pizza makers from all over the world. Finland became world-famous in the competition in 2008, when Kotipizza ranked first with its exotic Reindeer Pizza. Besides being well established in Finland, Kotipizza has also expanded internationally. Cold Smoked Salmon Pizza can be enjoyed also in China, Russia and Estonia.

The America’s Plate is an International culinary pizza competition that is held in New York City every year in association with Pizza Magazine Quarterly’s New York Pizza Showcase.
