Konecranes has announced a range of new orders from the United States.
They include a deal to deliver three rubber tired gantry (RTG) cranes in June 2013 to transportation supplier CSX Intermodal Terminals.
CSX Corporation is one of the leading transportation suppliers in the US and the RTGs will be used for stacking and moving containers from rail to truck and vice versa. The value of the order was not disclosed.
Washington United Terminal (WUT), part of Hyundai Merchant Marine Co, located in the Port of Tacoma, Washington, has opted again for Konecranes heavy-duty lift trucks.
The order comprises three Reach Stackers to be delivered in 2012. WUT ordered their first Reach Stacker from Konecranes in 2011.
— Konecranes trucks are well-proven in our fleet. Their reliability, performance and fuel economy has led us to order Konecranes once again, says WUT’s Operational Manager Jeff Podgorski.
The company is also delivering six straddle carriers to Maher Terminals LLC, one of the world’s largest container terminal operators.
The straddle carriers will be delivered to Maher’s terminal in the Port of New York and New Jersey in November. Again, the parties are not disclosing the value of the order.
