Konecranes to deliver ten RTG cranes to Indonesia

Konecranes has received a repeat order for ten RTG (rubber tired gantry) cranes from Indonesia.  The cranes are intended for the Indonesian
state-owned terminal operator Pelindo 1. The cranes will be delivered to Belawan BICT terminal located in the city of Medan on the west end of the Malacca strait by the main world cargo route.  On the opposite site of the strait is the port of Singapore.

The cranes will expand BICT’s existing container crane fleet and will increase its container handling capacity. The five Konecranes ordered by BICT are currently being delivered. The recent order will increase the number of RTG cranes operating in Indonesia to more than 30.

The eight-wheeled RTG cranes can stack six plus one containers high and six containers wide plus truck lane.  The lifting capacity is 40 tonnes.
