Konecranes supplies six RTG cranes to Turkey

Konecranes Konecrane’s RTG crane can stack up to 36 containers at one time.
Konecranes has received an order for six RTG (rubber-tired-gantry) container handling cranes from Turkish terminal operator TCE EGE Konteyner Terminal Isletmeleri, A.S. based in Aliaga, Izmir. The first RTG cranes will be delivered to TCE EGE in Aliaga in January 2011. The value of the order has not been disclosed.

TCE EGE is part of the global Spanish-based operator Grup TCB (Terminal de Contenidors de Barcelona, S.L.) to whom Konecranes delivered its first cranes already in 1993. Today, Grup TCB has more than 20 Konecranes cranes in several of their terminals e.g. in Valencia, Spain and in Paranagua, Brazil. Konecranes is confident that it won the recent RTG order thanks to the customer’s good experience with the company’s equipment.

– We started the sales work in Turkey two years ago and this has now paid off. Turkey will be one of our focus areas in the future, says Kim Salvén, Sales Manager at Konecranes.

The 16-wheel RTG cranes are equipped with active load control with a horizontal fine positioning system and Konecranes’ crane management system, ensuring safe and uninterrupted use of the cranes.

The lifting capacity of the RTG cranes is 40 tons and can stack one over six containers high and six plus truck lanes wide.
