Konecranes delivers 90 industrial cranes to China
Lehtikuva / Markku UlanderKonecranes will deliver an order of 90 heavy industrial cranes to the steel company Marcegaglia Ltd. in China's Yangzhou. The cranes will be installed and used in the client company's new steel pipe factory, which is still under construction. The first cranes will be delivered in September 2009 and the last in July 2010.
The Italian owned Marcegaglia Ltd. is a world-leading steel refinery. Once the construction is finished, Yangzhou steel pipe factory is expected to produce 350,000 tons of steel pipes for the Chinese hydraulic cylinder and automotive industry.
Twelve of the ordered cranes are SM cranes used for handling steel reels, with a 48-ton lifting capacity. The other 78 cranes are CXT cranes, which will be used for handling steel pipes and have a 16-ton lifting capacity.
