Kone wins order to supply elevators and escalators for 46 Chinese railway stations

Kone remains a strong presence on the Chinese market.  The company has agreed to supply 178 MonoSpace elevators and 226 TransitMaster escalators to a total of 46 railway stations across China. The stations are along the Chinese national high-speed line and the nine stations are along a network connecting cities in eight provinces.

The escalators are designed to meet the heavy people flow demands of mass transit.  According a press release from Kone, the order is testament to the company’s strong track record and to its delivery and maintenance systems.

China has been rapidly expanding its high-speed railway network as it is seen as an eco-efficient way to boost the expansion of China's transportation system. This latest project will develop the Central Region as well as the Yangtze River Delta and the northern Bohai Bay economic zones.

The Kone solutions will be installed as far north as Hailar in Inner Mongolia and 3,000 kilometres south in the coastal city of Zhuhai in Guangdong Province.
