Kesko and Stora Enso among world’s most ethical companies

Kesko wins recognition for its ethical operations for the second year in a row. Kesko wins recognition for its ethical operations for the second year in a row.

The American Ethisphere Institute has named Kesko and Stora Enso in its list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies of 2012. Hundreds of companies representing more than 100 countries and 35 business sectors were included in the comparison.

Ethisphere’s choice was based on its assessment of the companies’ corporate governance, number of innovations and responsible and sustainable business practices, among other things.

Both Kesko and Stora Enso have received recognition for their corporate responsibility efforts in Finland and internationally. Kesko has made it into the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes for nine consecutive years, and the Global100 list of the world’s 100 most sustainable companies eight times. Stora Enso has also been ranked in the Global100 list several times.

This year, 145 companies representing the best in their business sector made it onto the World’s Most Ethical Companies list. This marks the second and fifth time that Kesko and Stora Enso, respectively, were designated with the title.
