Kemira establishes a joint venture in India and builds a factory in China
IVRCL Kemira’s joint venture partner IVRCL is a leading infrastructure company in India.Kemira, Hindustan Dorr-Oliver (HDO) and IVRCL have agreed to form a strategic alliance to serve the Indian water treatment markets. IVRCL and HDO are leading water infrastructure companies in India.
The joint venture will include an inorganic coagulant manufacturing facility to be constructed in Vishakapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. Inorganic coagulants are essential chemicals used in industrial and municipal water treatment.
Kemira will own 51 percent, and Promoters of IVRCL 49 percent of the joint venture.
Kemira will also establish a manufacturing facility in Nanjing, China to enhance its customer service in the growing Chinese water treatment market. The value of the investment is estimated to be around 25 million euro.
The facility will be a state of the art regional production hub for a range of specialty process chemicals serving all of Kemira's customer segments.
The plant will be located in the Nanjing Chemical Industry Park (NCIP) about 300 kilometres northwest of Shanghai.
– The NCIP chemical park is one of the state level chemical parks and gives easy access to raw materials and utilities. The Asian water chemistry market offers us ample opportunities for growth, says Ronald Kwan, Region Head for Kemira Asia Pacific.
