Joyride Games strives to bring ClimbStation to international markets
JoyrideJoyride Games Oy, a company established in 2004 in Vantaa, has finally brought its prototype climbing wall into the market. The company, which survived the product's research and development phase with assistance for instance from the National Technology Agency Tekes, is now looking for a long term investor for ClimbStation. One of the company's business partners is the fitness and rehabilitation equipment company David Sports Ltd based in Finland.
The product itself is about 6,5 m long and 150 cm wide rotating climbing belt. The 4 meters high wall can be tilted between +15 - -30 degrees to a desired steepness. The maximum rotating speed is 17 meters per minute. There are 12 computer controlled climbing levels and a selection of language options to choose from.
The President of Joyride Games Oy, Kaarle Vanamo says that the company is looking for an international partner who would like to buy a license for the product. According to Vanamo the product, which has now reached market competence, requires a functional distribution chain and large scale manufacture. The existing ClimbStations have been commissioned from a number of subcontractors.
- The Finnish market is not enough for us. The markets of United States and Japan are much more appealing for our product. A suitable business partner would be for instance a company producing fitness equipment, contemplates Vanamo the future of the newcomer company.
